About IELTS writing test
You have 60 minutes to complete 2 writing tasks. This includes 20 minutes to complete a task 1 question in at least 150 words, and a task 2 question in at least 250 words.
You will be assessed on the test takers task achievement or task response, coherence and cohesion, lexical resource, and grammatical range and accuracy.
For IELTS Academic Writing task 1, you will need to describe a graph, table, chart of diagram, or explain how something works. For IELTS Academic Writing task 2, you will need to write an essay expressing a point of view.
For IELTS General Training Writing task 1, you will respond to a situation by writing a letter. For IELTS General Training Writing task 2, you will write in essay responding to an argument.
